What's new
Clio joins the connectors you can link to Irys, and it goes both ways.
- Connect it like any other account. Sign in with your own Clio account from your connection settings, the same way Gmail or Drive works. Disconnect whenever you want.
- Your matters, not a folder tree. Clio shows up in the account browser as a matter tree, so you find work the way you already think about it.
- Bring your work across. Select what you need and bring it into the Library or straight into a matter, where research, drafting, comparison, and cite check run against it.
- Ask about the record. Which matters are open and who the clients are, the status and responsible attorney, what is on the calendar, outstanding tasks, recent time entries.
- Send work back. A finished draft, a note, a task with a due date, or a time entry, filed on the right matter in Clio.
Why this matters
Your matters, documents, tasks, calendar, and time entries are all there, so the work runs against the real record rather than a copy of it. And when something is finished it goes back onto the matter, so the draft, the note, the task, and the time entry all land where the rest of your firm will look for them. Nothing gets moved across by hand at the end of the day. Clio stays the system of record.
How to use it
- Open your connection settings, choose Clio, and sign in
- Open the account browser from the chat attachment menu or the Library, pick a matter, and bring documents across
- Ask about a matter by its display number, for example its status, open tasks, or recent time entries
- When something is finished, ask for it to be saved to the matter, or add a note, a task, or a time entry
Irys asks for your approval before it writes anything to Clio, and it never exceeds the permissions of the connection.
Documents are read as text, so Word, PDF, DOC, and plain text all work. A scanned document with no text layer will not summarize yet. Clio account availability can vary by region, so get in touch if yours does not connect.
