Vanderbilt University Law School has multiple documents touching AI in coursework and no single policy. Here is exactly what each says, checked Sept '26.

What the school says

The current state

Unclear as of 2026-09-01. Vanderbilt's university-wide Honor Code defines unauthorized aid to include generative AI software when prohibited by an instructor, but the cited enforcement mechanism is attributed to the Undergraduate Honor Council, and it is not stated whether this AI-specific definition extends to the Law School's own, separate JD Honor Council process (which operates under the same general Honor Code text, itself silent on AI). Vanderbilt's Master of Legal Studies (a different, non-JD law degree in the same School) does have an explicit disclosure-based generative AI policy in the current Law School Catalog; no equivalent JD-specific provision was found.
