Checked Oct 2026 against Spellbook's own pricing page; details may have changed since.
1. What Spellbook publishes about pricing
Spellbook has a pricing page, and it names two plans: Law Firms and In-House Teams. Both include the Spellbook Suite, which is the Word Add-In plus the Associate agent. Law Firms adds group training sessions, online support, and dedicated support for teams over ten. In-House Teams adds team training and a Playbook Build Service, with the same dedicated support for larger teams.
The page does not show a dollar figure. Its heading reads “Custom pricing for modern legal teams”, and it says the price is set by the number of team members on a license.
2. How quotes are set
Spellbook points you to a demo for a quote based on team size. That makes the price depend on your headcount, and likely on any volume terms you negotiate. The page does not say how.
It offers a 7-day free trial so a lawyer or team can test features and workflows, and says extended trials may be available for larger organizations. Use the trial on a real agreement before you request the quote, so you know what you are pricing.
3. Figures that circulate, and why to weigh them carefully
Search “Spellbook pricing” and some sites state a per-user monthly or annual figure. This guide does not repeat them. They do not appear on Spellbook's pricing page, they differ between sources, and most do not say which plan or team size they refer to. Because the page says price follows license count, a single published number would not describe every buyer.
4. How to get a real number for your team
Ask Spellbook these questions in writing:
- What is the price per user per month, and does it change with the number of licenses?
- Is the quote monthly or annual, and what is the contract length and renewal increase?
- Do the Word Add-In and the Associate agent both sit in the base price?
- Are there limits on documents, Tabular Reports or agent usage, and what happens at the limit?
- What does the Playbook Build Service cost, if it is not included in my plan?
- Is training included, and for how many people?
- Can the team extend the 7-day trial to run a full matter?
Ask the same questions of every vendor so the answers compare. Our guide to evaluating legal AI has the full checklist, and the legal AI pricing guide sets out the pricing models and lists vendors side by side. For a feature comparison, see Irys vs Spellbook.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Spellbook cost per month?
Spellbook's pricing page shows no dollar amount. It says pricing is determined by the number of team members on a license, and it directs you to book a demo for a quote.
Does Spellbook have a free trial?
Yes. The pricing page says lawyers and legal teams can try Spellbook free for 7 days, and that extended trials may be available for larger organizations. No permanent free tier is shown.
Does Spellbook publish its plans?
It publishes plan names and contents, Law Firms and In-House Teams, but not their prices. That makes it more open than a vendor with no pricing page, though you still need a quote to know the cost.
What do third-party sites say Spellbook costs?
Some comparison sites state a per-user figure. None is on Spellbook's own pricing page, the figures differ, and this guide does not repeat them. Treat any number without a dated Spellbook source as unconfirmed.
How do I get Spellbook pricing?
Book a demo from the pricing page and give your team size. Bring the questions in the checklist above so the quote is complete and comparable with other vendors.
Is Spellbook only for contracts?
Spellbook describes itself as working inside Microsoft Word for contract drafting and review. For research and other litigation work, check what the plan covers before assuming it replaces another tool.
Who publishes this guide?
Irys (formerly Iqidis), a legal AI platform with published pricing: $299 per month for Irys One and $329 per seat per month for Irys Teams, with a 7-day free trial. Irys competes with Spellbook. This guide keeps its claims to what Spellbook's own pricing page shows.
Transparency contrast
Irys publishes its pricing on the Irys pricing page. Irys One is $299 per month for one attorney, and Irys Teams is $329 per seat per month for teams of two to twenty-five, with no per-token or per-query overage on the advertised Irys One plan. A seven-day trial requires no credit card. Published pricing is not always the better fit, since a large deployment may need a scoped quote, but you can check cost before you speak to anyone.
This guide is based on publicly available information checked Oct 2026. “Not shown” means no price or term appeared on the vendor's pages that we checked; actual pricing, features and contract terms may differ. Confirm current details with the vendor before you buy. Irys (formerly Iqidis) publishes this guide and competes with Spellbook.
