Business Development Manager

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive Irys's go-to-market in the legal sector. You will work directly with law firm technology leaders, general counsels, and practice group chairs to understand their operational needs, translate them into Irys engagements, and build the commercial relationships that will define our market position. This role is a direct line to shaping the product and the category.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle for enterprise law firm and corporate legal department accounts, from initial outreach through contract execution
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities through direct prospecting, conference presence, referral networks, and partner channels
  • Lead product demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements that surface the practical value of Irys for each firm's specific workflows
  • Partner closely with the product and engineering team to relay client feedback that informs the product roadmap
  • Develop and maintain relationships with legal technology consultants, bar association technology committees, and legal operations communities
  • Contribute to the development of sales materials, case studies, and ROI frameworks that support the broader commercial motion
  • Track pipeline health, forecast accurately, and report on key commercial metrics to the leadership team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B enterprise sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of closing six-figure and above contracts
  • Experience selling technology into law firms, legal departments, or other professional services organizations
  • Fluency in how law firms make technology buying decisions, including the roles of managing partners, IT leadership, and practice group leads
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex technical capabilities to both technical and non-technical buyers
  • Self-directed with the discipline to manage a distributed sales process without day-to-day oversight
  • Experience using CRM tools to manage pipeline and generate accurate forecasts

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience at a legal technology company, legal data provider, or legaltech startup
  • Existing relationships with technology buyers at AmLaw 200 firms or major corporate legal departments
  • Understanding of legal AI, natural language processing, or document automation technology at a conceptual level
  • Experience building a sales function from early-stage, including contributing to pricing strategy and sales process design
