Irys Prime Launches, Introducing True Legal Intelligence

What We Built and Why

Irys Prime is the product of two years of work on a single question: what would legal AI look like if it were designed to the standard that legal work actually demands? Not demos. Not benchmarks designed to impress investors. The standard that a partner would hold an associate to: accurate, citable, auditable, and organized around the matter — not the prompt.

Core Capabilities at Launch

Irys Prime ships with four core capability areas. Matter Intelligence organizes every interaction around the persistent context of a matter, so AI assistance accumulates across the lifecycle of a case rather than resetting with each session. Authority Retrieval delivers jurisdiction-aware case and statute search with full citation chains, separated architecturally from the reasoning layer. Document Analysis processes contracts, filings, discovery sets, and correspondence with entity extraction tuned to legal concepts. Draft Assistance generates and refines legal documents with inline citation to source authorities, with every factual claim traceable to a retrieved source.

The Audit Layer

Every Irys Prime output includes a full provenance trail: which sources were retrieved, which were used, which passages influenced which sections of a draft. This is not a feature — it is an architectural requirement. Professional responsibility demands that lawyers understand and supervise AI-assisted work. The audit layer makes that supervision possible at scale.

What Comes Next

Prime is the first stable release of a platform we intend to build on for years. The roadmap includes deeper integration with existing matter management and billing systems, expanded jurisdiction coverage for international and cross-border matters, and private fine-tuning that allows firms to incorporate their own precedent libraries and institutional knowledge. We are building this for the long run — and today is the beginning.
