Cancellation at Irys is self-serve from your account settings. One click. No phone call, no email gate, no retention-team dance.

What happens when you cancel

Three things happen immediately:

  1. Auto-renewal stops at the end of your current billing cycle.
  2. You enter a 90-day deactivation window with read-only access to your matters, documents, drafts, and AI conversations.
  3. The Export button is surfaced on the cancellation confirmation screen and in the confirmation email.

Cancellation is reversible the entire 90 days. You can reactivate at any time during the window with one click.

The 90-day deactivation window

During the 90 days after cancellation:

  • You can read every matter, document, draft, AI conversation, note, and library entry
  • You can export everything as a ZIP archive at any time
  • You can reactivate with one click. add a payment method and you are back to full access, exactly as you left it
  • You cannot generate new AI work or upload new documents. The window is for retrieving, not continuing

This is a deliberate design choice. Your customer agreement with Irys is still in force during the window — we just stop billing and limit your access.

How to export your data

From the cancellation confirmation screen or the confirmation email, click Export. You will receive a ZIP archive containing:

  • All documents you uploaded
  • All drafts you generated, including version history
  • Your AI conversation history with prompts and responses
  • Your notes and library contents
  • A manifest of every Matter

The export link stays valid for the full 90 days. You do not need to download immediately.

How to reactivate

During the 90-day window, click Reactivate from the cancellation-confirmation email or from your account login. Add a payment method and you are back to full access in the same session.

Matters, documents, drafts, AI conversation history, notes, and settings return exactly as you left them.

After the 90-day window ends and the deletion cascade starts, reactivation requires support and may not be possible once the data deletion completes (approximately day 120 for primary systems, day 150 for backups).

Irys Teams and Enterprise cancellation

On firm-tier plans (Irys Teams and Enterprise), the subscription contract is with the firm, not the individual user. As a result:

  • Cancellation is managed by the firm administrator (Owner or Billing Admin role) from the Admin Panel
  • Individual team members cannot self-cancel
  • Firm-wide data export at cancellation flows through admin

If you are a member and need to leave the firm or retrieve work you authored, contact your firm admin. Admins can also configure the firm's retention window and trigger a firm-wide export at cancellation.

What does NOT happen at cancellation

We want this to be clear, because legal customers care:

  • Cancellation is not termination. Your customer agreement remains in force during the 90-day window. We simply stop billing and limit access.
  • Your data is not deleted at cancellation. The deletion cascade does not start until day 90.
  • Marketing emails do not automatically stop. Use the unsubscribe link in any email if you would prefer not to hear from us.
  • Re-signup with the same email is not blocked. You can start fresh at any time if you want a clean slate.

Frequently asked

Will I be billed again after I cancel? No. Auto-renewal stops immediately. You keep access through the end of your current billing cycle, then enter the 90-day deactivation window.

Can I get a refund for the unused portion of my billing cycle? Refunds are handled case by case. Email support@iqidis.ai and we will work with you.

What if I cancel during the free trial? There is nothing to cancel during the trial — you have not been charged. If you want to clear your trial data sooner than the standard window, contact support@iqidis.ai.

What if I am on Irys Teams or Enterprise and my admin will not cancel? Contact support@iqidis.ai. We do not become a party between you and your firm, but we can confirm what your admin can and cannot do under the contract.
